THE CHALLENGE
Our team was tasked with transporting a custom-made precast junction box from Gulfport, MS to Mobile, AL for Design Precast, a premier family-owned pipe and precast manufacturing company based on the Gulf Coast. This box weighed in at an incredible 180,000 pounds! Moving a super load of this scale required careful coordination as we navigated multi-state regulations, tight schedules, and strict permitting requirements. Due to state regulations, once the load reached Alabama, police escorts were required to complete the haul.
THE SOLUTION
Success started with meticulous planning that began long before we hit the road. Our team of heavy haul experts conducted detailed route surveys, secured necessary permits, and deployed specialized equipment to safely transport the oversized load. A key factor in this project was our close collaboration with Design Precast, who welcomed us onsite to oversee the loading process. This hands-on involvement ensured the load was secured correctly and allowed us to follow it every step of the way to Mobile.
