HATTIESBURG, Miss. and WAUKESHA, Wisc. - Jones Logistics (JoLo), a trucking transportation company based in Hattiesburg, Miss, has recently been named Generac Power Systems' Logistics Supplier of the Year for 2022. JoLo initially received this honor from Generac for the first time in 2020. Today, JoLo holds this award for the third year in a row.
The relationship between JoLo and Generac spans just over six years. It began in June 2017 with the operation of a small dedicated fleet with less than ten trucks and one solution. That was until the need for a larger and more specific transportation solution arose, and when Generac needed a willing provider, JoLo stepped up to the plate. Since then, the JoLo Generac fleet has grown significantly in size and complexity.
“Jones does nine different segments...from customer deliveries, moving things between plants, and picking up loads from suppliers and bringing them in,” commented Rob Kruger, Senior Manager of Global Logistics Transportation at Generac. “It’s an unbelievable, complicated network orchestrated by a wonderful group of people. That’s the only reason it’s successful. We have a great team [at JoLo] that helps us answer the call.”
Generac has been living out its mission of powering a smarter world for over sixty years, and it is recognized as the number one manufacturer of affordable home standby generators. Today, Generac also manufactures and distributes generators for businesses and portable generators for travel, among other solutions in its portfolio.
"It’s a huge honor to win the Generac Supplier of the Year award for transportation,” commented Carrie Bosanec, Director of Operations for JoLo.“...Winning it three times in a row really speaks to who we are, our culture, and it speaks to Jones Logistics and the commitment we have to our customers. It also shows our drivers the impact they have on another business.”
For this partnership with Generac, JoLo currently operates a 4,000 sq. ft. office building in Waukesha, WI to house the operations teams, a 50,000 sq ft warehouse, and a 10-acre yard to coordinate and execute the movement of Generac’s Commercial Units. Additional facilities include an 8-acre yard in Lyons, Ill to handle inbound rail and ocean container freight, and a 3-acre yard in Laredo, Texas to handle Generac industrial units coming out of Mexico City, MX. As of this year, JoLo expanded operations in Savannah, GA to meet the growing needs of Generac’s new production facility in Trenton, SC.
