JoLo Partners with United Way to Celebrate 25 Years of Business
Jones Logistics (JoLo), a portfolio company of Jones Capital, is proud to partner with United Way to celebrate its 25th Anniversary.
On or around June 21 every year, people worldwide act to improve their communities in an organized outreach effort known as the United Way Day of Action. This year, JoLo celebrated 25 years of business by taking part in this day and sending volunteers to help with community service projects between the South and Upper Midwest United States.
In Shelbyville, TN, employees volunteered to paint the walls and make repairs both inside and outside the Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County. In Waukesha, WI, employees volunteered at La Casa de Esperanza by cleaning and organizing classroom materials. In Hattiesburg, MS, where JoLo is headquartered, employees volunteered to install Born Learning Trail signs and made repairs to the gazebo at Town Square Park.
“With hard work and good will, business will prosper. These are the principles JoLo was founded on,” commented Doug George, CEO of JoLo on the day of action. He went on to say that “this is a great example of our employees living out those principles and proving that profit and benevolence can co-exist.”
The day was followed by a ribbon cutting held at Town Square Park in Hattiesburg to commemorate 25 years while employees and community members recognized the company's mission of ‘enhancing the lives of the communities we serve’. The ribbon cutting was held in partnership with the Hattiesburg ADP. A celebration immediately followed that included a cookout from the Jones Serves trailer, Rosie’s Ice Cream, yard games, and participation in the main attraction; the Born Learning Trail.
